Shortly before 7:45 p.m. on Sunday night, troopers from Troop H in Hartford responded to the Route 9, exit 30 commuter lot in New Britain, where a woman reported that three Hispanic men had taken her purse off her arm by force, before taking off on foot.
Upon arrival at the scene, troopers spoke to the woman, who was able to provide a more detailed description of the three suspects, who were tracked down and detained by police in New Britain.
Police said that through the course of the investigation, the victim and witnesses identified the three males as the ones that stole the victim’s purse. All three males were then taken into custody.
Bedford, Mass. resident Adrien Gonzalez, 21, was arrested and charged with grand larceny, second-degree robbery, interfering with an officer, resisting arrest and breach of peace. He is currently being held in lieu of $50,000 bond and was due to appear in court on Monday for arraignment.
The two juvenile males were also taken into custody and transported to Connecticut State Police Troop H, where they were charged with larceny, robbery, and breach of peace. One of the minors was also charged with interfering with an officer and resisting arrest. Both have been transported to the Juvenile Detention Center in Hartford until their court dates at the New Britain Juvenile Court.
